Chesterfield needed a win in this game, and they knew they had a chance of getting 1, but Dagenham & Redbridge are never an easy side to beat. In the last 10 minutes of the half it became very heated with 3 players getting yellow cards, Will Antwi, Drew Talbot and Robert Page.After the half-time against the run of play the Daggers extended their lead, Paul Benson took adavantage of Kevin Austins week header and blasted the ball in the top corner giving Tommy Lee no chance, a wonderful goal by the Daggers top scorer last season. That goal seemed to give Dagenham a boost and they just pa sed Chesterfield to death at times. Chesterfield did get a Christian Benford Jersey goal back late on though, Donal McDermott, on loan from Manchester City, beat Tony Roberts from 18 yards to pull it back to 2-1.
