Clues about the potential setting for Grand Theft Auto 6 have emerged from a job listing on Rockstar's official portal. Despite nearly a decade passing since the release of GTA 5, Rockstar appears to be taking its time in unveiling Grand Theft Auto 6.

Grand Theft Auto 6 stands as one of the most eagerly anticipated games in the history of gaming, with fans eagerly seeking updates since the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5. The impressive success of GTA 5 has only heightened the expectations for its successor, considering it's the second best-selling video game in history. Apart from an unfortunate leak about GTA 6 that surfaced in September 2022, fans are largely in the dark about the game's details. However, a job listing from Rockstar might have inadvertently revealed a tantalizing aspect of the upcoming title.

Currently, Rockstar Games' career page displays an open position for a Character Assembly Artist at its Toronto studio. This posting seems to offer a hint about the setting of GTA 6. The role emphasizes a strong grasp of "era-specific culture and demographics," requiring expertise in fashion trends and street-style aesthetics. Furthermore, the job entails populating the game's open world, indicating the creation of non-playable characters (NPCs) whose appearance aligns with the game's time period. While no official confirmation exists regarding flashbacks or time shifts in Grand Theft Auto 6, this job listing suggests that a portion of the game might be set outside the modern era.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently indicated that the company is poised for a "significant inflection point in fiscal 2025." This timeframe hints that the game might launch sometime between 2024 and 2025. A leak from a reliable source also suggested a holiday 2024 release for GTA 6, a possibility that gains traction following Zelnick's statement. This means fans might receive information about the game's setting sooner than expected.

Another leak, which recently surfaced, claimed that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been under development since 2015. This information came from a former Rockstar employee who departed the company in 2018 after a tenure of nearly 13 years. Interestingly, this source also mentioned the development of Bully 2, which was reportedly canceled shortly after its initiation.
