The Turning Point, a Marlton, New Jersey, brunch spot, is an homage to its state. Ecco Schuhe Schweiz Günstig . On one wall, a canvas print trumpets Garden State cities -- Marlton! Hoboken! Manalapan! -- in block letters. On another, black-and-white photographs showcase local landmarks in sharp relief. And squirreled away in a booth in the back, the reigning FIFA Womens World Player of the Year, a New Jersey product herself, picks at a pesto infusion skillet, pondering the match that she says changed everything.Last summer Carli Lloyd scored three times in the first 16 minutes of the World Cup final against Japan, the fastest hat trick in World Cup history by a man or a woman. Now, seven months later, she recalls her third goal -- an improbable 54-yard kick from midfield -- with assuredness and bemusement. When I got the ball at midfield, I took a touch. I looked up and saw the keeper off her line. I took another touch to prep. I just hit it. As perfect as could be. When it came off my foot, I knew it was perfect. Then she laughs. It was a play that could never go right, except on the one day when nothing could go wrong.Lloyd finally stepped to the forefront of womens soccer on that afternoon in July, but here, at the Turning Point, she practically recedes into the background. She is not Serena Williams, granite sculpture of biceps and triceps. She is not Ronda Rousey, bulk and power. At 5-foot-8, her hair piled into a messy bun, and sporting an unremarkable all-black warm-up suit, she could just as easily be your fitness-conscious roommate as a World Cup Golden Ball winner. Lloyd grew up about 10 miles north in Delran, is engaged to her high school boyfriend, Brian Hollins, and still calls South Jersey home. But when the waitress swings by the table to offer refills, she does not seem to realize she is sharing the room with the best womens soccer player in the world. The thing is, Lloyd goes on, those 16 minutes were 13 years of hard, hard work.So call the prayer from midfield a happy accident if you like. Just dont call Lloyd one. She is, shell tell you, more than the sum total of those 960 seconds. And she is over being overlooked for all that came before.I have scored some big-time goals, Lloyd says, almost defiantly. Ive done well in Algarve Cups. Ive done well in World Cup and Olympic qualifiers, Olympics. In big games when were playing top-five teams. But yet you never see my face or my name out there. And it has frustrated me my entire career. It seems implausible that Lloyd, now 33, could ever fly under the radar. Since making her national team debut nearly 11 years ago, she has become the teams most prolific scoring midfielder ever, a remarkable 69 international goals coming from center mid. She has started 24 of 25 matches in the past two World Cups and two Olympics combined, and her 222 caps ranks eighth in U.S. womens national team history. And yet, after the 5-2 World Cup win over Japan, U.S. Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati declared that generations of fans had a new hero in Lloyd, giving voice to the idea that her hat trick, the first in a womens final, represented a breakthrough for the veteran. Indeed, just after that long ball arced its way from midfield toward Japanese keeper Ayumi Kaihori, beneath the collective jubilation was a prevailing puzzlement.Finally. And then: What took her so long?THE CHASM BETWEEN Lloyds appraisal of her career pre-2015 World Cup and the referendum offered by outside observers makes the Grand Canyon look fun-size in scale. She was either the national teams most effective contributor the three years prior, or a turnover-prone, shoot-first-pass-much-much-later liability. She was its most consistent grinder, or its most inconsistent playmaker. She was clutch personified, or choker incarnate. So when Gulati dubbed Lloyd a new hero last summer, it made both perfect sense, and none whatsoever.Gulati now says that starring in a game of that magnitude would make anyone a new hero, regardless of prior work. A performance like that changes things, he says. Still, last summer was not the first time Lloyd dabbled in big-game heroics: In 2008 and 2012, she scored the Olympic gold game winners. If there was any doubt from 2008 and on, there is no doubt that from 2012 until today she has been the most impactful player on the team, says James Galanis, Lloyds longtime personal coach.Yet right up until the round of 16 in last years World Cup, when the U.S. emerged with a 2-0 victory over Colombia, there was a small but insistent call for Lloyds outright removal from the starting 11. There were some analysts, co-analysts of mine in the studio, saying that she should be benched in the World Cup, says former USWNT coach Tony DiCicco, now a broadcaster for Fox Sports. In fairness, in all the ways Lloyd was transcendent in the knockout round -- she scored six of the teams 10 goals in those four matches -- she was pedestrian in the group stage. She would come on, and explode, only when midfielder Lauren Holidays yellow-card suspension gave way to Morgan Brians insertion into the lineup, moving Lloyd back up to her natural attacking position. Lloyds tournament was a microcosm of the ways she has both dazzled and confounded for years.Carli ... shes an interesting player, DiCicco says. [A few years ago] there would be moments of greatness surrounded by mediocrity. Shed make errant pass after errant pass. Shed force shots instead of slipping the ball through. Then shed have a moment of greatness again, he continues, and youd say, Mmm, theres some genius in this player. So is the question what took her so long? Or what took everyone else so long? For Lloyd, the answer is simple: She is not a late bloomer. She is a casualty of late-blooming recognition. Way late, in her words.Im not going to go and pose for a swimsuit edition because thatll just ruin my reputation right off the bat, Lloyd says, picking up steam. So I guess what Im getting at is, you know, its just really been about how many jerseys they can sell. Ive kept to myself, Ive put my head down, Ive gone to work. And I have felt undervalued. She doesnt utter Alex Morgan by name, but the reference feels like an unspoken presence. Despite logging 13,943 minutes in international play before 2015, it took the World Cup for Lloyd to land a rash of big sponsorships -- Comcast, United Airlines, EA Sports, Whole Foods. The 26-year-old Morgan, by contrast, skyrocketed to fame, scoring more goals (41) in her first three years than any other U.S. player, landing knee-deep in endorsements almost immediately and posing for Sports Illustrateds swimsuit issue twice. Its funny to me, U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo says. People dont always turn their heads, because shes not in swimsuits and shes not posting on social media. But, you know, people should have known about Carli for a lot longer than 2015 and beyond. In some ways, her fame was a product of her circumstances. She shared the field with scene-stealers in now-retired Abby Wambach, then Morgan, and for a long spell, both. Even her prowess in back-to-back Olympics had a short shelf life. She scored two winning goals in the Olympics; those were terrific goals, two gold medals, but it didnt resonate in the same way as this World Cup did, Gulati says. The Olympics are different because its a multisport event, so youre not the only one onstage, so to speak. But what one person sees as circumstances, another can see as oversight. Lloyd would look up at the JumboTron to see a promotion for an upcoming game but would never see a photo of herself as the selling point. And one source close to the U.S. team recalls going to the federations online store before the 2015 Womens World Cup to look for a Carli Lloyd jersey, only to find noncustom options limited to Wambach, Morgan and Sydney Leroux. Even within our own federation, she hasnt been pushed to the forefront, the source says. That says a lot in terms of what we valued.Says Galanis: Shes been a hero over and over again. But U.S. Soccer has failed to recognize that. Over and over again.BEFORE SHE WAS overlooked, Lloyd was discarded. In March 2003, still a junior at Rutgers University, she sat across the table from her U21 WNT coach, Chris Petrucelli, in a hotel conference room in Carson, California. He told her that, yes, she could strike the ball better than anyone, but she showed little interest in defending. Her fitness level was subpar. And there were times in games when she seemed to disappear. She had been cut.Lloyd retreated home to Delran certain that besides her upcoming senior year at Rutgers, soccer was in her rearview mirror. Then her father found James Galanis.A native of Preston, Australia, Galanis sports a chin-length mop of hair and thick-framed glasses that make him look more laid-back Aussie surfer than hard-nosed trainer. But he has created a name for himself in the New Jersey soccer scene, starting a private coaching practice in nearby Lumberton, and had trained Lloyds younger brothers soccer team. My daughter needs you. Shes on the brink of quitting, her father told Galanis. Can you help her? Before taking her on, he evaluated her mentally and physically and came to two conclusions: First, Carli Lloyd could be the best soccer player in the world. And second, at 21 years old, she needed to start over.Lloyds movements on the field were thoughtless. Shed plant her foot at an angle when passing; that foot needed to stay straight. Shed strike the ball and her leg would cross over her body; it needed to follow through in a line. A million minuscule gaffes, when taken together, amounted to a crisis. So Galanis broke down and refined and re-refined her mechanics. Its a dance, he says, and Lloyd did not yet know the steps. As they wiped her slate clean, Galanis devised an outline for Lloyds career. Three phases, four years apiece. Phase one: Get her foot in the door. Prove that she belonged not just on the U21 WNT -- she earned back her spot before the Nordic Cup that July -- but also on the senior team. On a field in Beijing in 2008, she did just that, scoring the U.S.s lone goal in its Olympic gold medal match against Brazil. Phase two: Make herself indispensable to the team. Become a starter. An impact player. She completed that too, accounting for both goals in a 2-1 Olympic gold medal victory over Japan in London in 2012. Phase three: Take over and finish. Become the best player in the world. The culmination of this final phase, and her career, they circled in red for August: Rio 2016.There were, of course, setbacks. High-profile collapses -- a penalty kick that sailed over the crossbar in the 2011 Womens World Cup final. Unforeseen complications -- a demotion to the bench to start the 2012 Olympics after that blown PK and erratic play throughout the World Cup tournament. Up-and-down relationships with coaches -- Pia Sundhage, reminiscing last summer on her time as the national team coach from 2008 to 2012, called Lloyd a challenge to coach. Her appetite for taking risks was both the best thing and hardest thing, Sundhage says now.Still, for a player accustomed to feeling ignored, her greatest accomplishment might be the most overlooked of all: She achieved the goal of phase three one year ahead of time, Galanis says. Enter a new, and final, quest. Phase four: Become the best player of all time. Target date, 2020.In that time, she has three major tournaments in which to make her case: Rio this summer, the 2019 World Cup and the Tokyo Olympics a year later. If she impacts each, if she is the margin of victory for the U.S. like she was in 2008, 2012 and again last year, Galanis says that is enough for her to lay claim to best ever. I want to be known as the best center midfielder that has ever played this game, Lloyd says. This fourth phase, of course, was made possible only because she sped up Galanis original time frame. So what took so long? The question is inherently flawed in Lloyds eyes. She wasnt late, or even right on time. She was a damn year early.ON A LONG stretch of Hainesport Mount Laurel Road in early April, Lloyd is lost in her music. Shes midway through her 50-minute run when she starts to visualize the Rio Olympics. First she sees the national team falling behind by two goals in the final. Then she envisions scoring four to spark a comeback. And that was it, she says with a shrug. We walked away with another gold medal.Lloyd does this often, playing out in her mind how she expects her performances to transpire. Its unbelievable how much the mind is so, so important, she says. Its part self-therapy, part Lloyd against the world, a trope she returns to often.Lloyd does more than just feed off slights, real or imagined. She seeks them out. Mia Hamm was U.S. Soccers unquestioned ambassador for years but insists assuming that role was not on her radar. Its not like we all got into a room and said, Hey, Mia, this is what we want to do and we want you to be the face of it, says Hamm, who played for the U.S. from 1987 to 2004. I just focused on playing. Even former U.S. striker Michelle Akers, whom Galanis sees as Lloyds kindred underappreciated spirit, either did not realize she was snubbed in her 15-year tenure or chose not to focus on it. Ive had people say that to me, and they were mad about it. About, you know, other players getting a lot more recognition and that I had more success on the field, Akers says. But who cares?Lloyd cares. And so perhaps the question of whether she has gone underappreciated is less vital than the fact that she needs to believe that to be so. The notion of disrespect both weighs on Lloyd and propels her forward. You know, I feel like if that spotlight had gone to Carli years ago, I dont think we would have seen the performance that we did last summer, says U.S. coach Jill Ellis. I really feel that way.Untangle the knot of motivation that drives her and the unraveling will inevitably lead back here. On March 30, five of the national teams biggest stars, Lloyd among them, filed a wage-discrimination claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against U.S. Soccer. Lloyd, Solo, Morgan, Megan Rapinoe and Becky Sauerbrunn lent their names to the complaint, demanding equal pay for equal play. Two days later, the women explained to espnW what they hoped to achieve by taking action.Equality, Solo said. Equal pay, echoed Sauerbrunn. The dream is, of course, equality, Morgan reiterated. Respect, Lloyd said.A SWARM OF fans -- 75, then 100, then 125 -- packs the tunnel beneath Section 101 in Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pennsylvania. A father wearing a blue Carli Lloyd jersey, No. 10, hoists his daughter a little higher, hoping to give her a better view. Another, in a red Adidas jacket, yells at his own daughter, stationed some 20 feet away, Yo, Liss! Get loud! He wants her to get an autograph. Children are screaming, but so are grown men and women, and at the epicenter of all this mayhem is Lloyd, walking toward the sea of manic red, white and blue. The U.S. has just dispatched Colombia, and its a homecoming of sorts for Lloyd, with Delran just 30 miles away. Some 100 of her friends and family came out on this mid-April afternoon, and when she tries to visit her cheering section, the fans take notice, and it quickly escalates into an all-out event.Liss! Shes coming over! Get louder! She wont hear you! father No. 2 yells. Its a lovefest, theres no other name for it, and Lloyd takes in the moment, signing jerseys, magazine covers, even cleats.Liss thrusts her soccer ball and a pen in Lloyds direction. LAKE FOREST, Ill. Cheap Wholesale Adidas Shoes . -- Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a torn right labrum and will be placed on injured reserve, coach John Fox announced Thursday. We did try to exhaust all the non-surgical remedies. Jay is a tough guy and proved that to me in the past, Fox said. We did multiple different types of rehab. Its been a couple weeks now. Now the next alternative is to have surgery. Hell have surgery on Saturday.Cutler, 33, suffered the tear in Chicagos loss at New York on Nov. 20 but finished the game.Fox initially described the injury as day to day.Hes tough and waited the weeks doing a lot of rehab, Fox said. They are in there doing rehab at all hours of the day. There were some different treatments -- Im not going to get into all the specifics -- but he did things you do to try and avoid surgery. They didnt take form like they were expecting, and were at the surgical mode at this point.Cutlers future in Chicago is in question. Since the guaranteed portion of Cutlers contract runs out after 2016, the Bears would take a $2 million cap hit if they trade or release Cutler in the offseason, but the move would open up $13 million worth of space.Fox refused to discuss Cutlers long-term status.Right now we have five games left and all of our focus is on San Francisco, Fox said. LOUIS -- Lance Lynn was one of the more enthusiastic participants as the St. DETROIT -- The Los Angeles Kings scored soon after the puck dropped for the first time in Detroit, and that was almost enough to finish off the offensively challenged Red Wings.Derek Forbort had a goal 21 seconds into the game on the first shot, Nic Dowd scored a tie-breaking goal late in the second period and Tyler Toffoli scored twice in the third, lifting Los Angeles to a 4-1 victory Thursday night. We were good all night, and even when we took penalties we were good on the kills, Toffoli said. The Buffalo game was really a wake up for us, and we stepped up. We cant stop now, though. We have to turn this into a streak.Los Angeles opened a nine-game trip that will last two-plus weeks with a 6-3 loss to the Sabres.I dont consider this a long trip, Kings coach Darryl Sutter insisted. Everybody here is used to traveling. The Red Wings had two shots in the first, their lowest total for any period this season and added just six more in the second.I was pretty much a spectator, said Jeff Zatkoff, who stopped 17 of 18 shots he faced. The guys did all the hard work and didnt leave me much to do.Detroits Jimmy Howard stopped 27 shots.Forbort put the Kings up early in the game, shooting through traffic and past Howard. A few minutes later, it looked like they were going to take a two-goal lead on Anze Kopitars shot that hit off the left post and caromed off the right post just outside of the goal line. The referees decision on the ice held up after video review.Detroits Mike Green made it 1-all with 7:13 left in the first period, taking advantage of a perfectly placed pass in front of the net by Luke Glendening, who created space behind the net by stoppinng quickly with the puck in the corner and reversing the direction he was skating. The Red Wings, though, could not generate much more offense during a game in which they gave up goals over the first two periods to players who had combined to score just three goals over the first two months of the season. They came close to scoring midway through the third period when Gustav Nyquist drew iron on a shot.Desperate to score trailing by two goals, coach Jeff Blashill pulled Howard with about 5 minutes left to add an extra skater and the Kings ended up taking advantage with Toffoli shooting into an open net.We hadnt scored and we hadnt generated much, Blashill said. I felt like it was the right decision. I would do it again in a heartbeat.Detroit has lost four straight, all at home, and has scored no more than one goal in a game during the slump. The Red Wings were 0 for 4 on the power play, dropping them to 0 for 13 over the last three games with an extra skater. LUBBOCK, Texas -- Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury knows Patrick Mahomes talent. Air Max Outlet España . But he also knows youth can bring dubious decisions.Mahomes, a junior, threw for four touchdowns and ran for two more to lead Texas Tech past Stephen F. Austin 69-17 on Saturday.I thought he was a little loose, kind of doing his own thing a few times, Kingsbury said. When things are there within the system, lets take it. And then when its not, get out and work your magic. The Lumberjacks couldnt stop the Red Raiders offense and couldnt get theirs on track for much of the game.Mahomes, who was pulled midway through the third quarter, completed 30 of 43 passes for 483 yards; he rushed for 57 more.Six Red Raiders receivers had yardage totals greater than 47 yards and the team had 10 plays of 20 yards or longer. This is a potent offense, Lumberjacks coach Clint Conque said. We obviously realized it was going to be a tough get for us as a football team. The win gave Texas Tech (1-0) its 16th straight win over FCS opponents, including three against the Lumberjacks (0-1).SFAs offense needed a ground game badly. The first few drives we had a hard time establishing the run, and its hard to sustain drives and win football games without having a decent running game, `Jacks quarterback Zach Conque said.Kingsbury wasnt too pleased with the offensive early on.I just didnt think offensively we played very technical -- kind of some streetball going on early, he said.THE TAKEAWAYTexas Tech: The Red Raiders, who finished 126th in total defense last season (547.7 per game), looked improved. But the quality of their opponent probably didnt provide the most accurate test. The defensive line is benefiting from two transfers, Kolin Hill (Notre Dame) and Ondre Pipkins (Michigan), and freshman linebacker Jordyn Brooks looked strong and fast. The defense showed its grit when it stopped the Lumberjacks inside the 10-yard line in the second quarter and took over on downs.I really think their interior people gave us grief the whole night, coach Conque said.Stephen F. Austin: The Lumberjacks have plenty of work to do to polish their offense. The Football Championship Subdivision team didnt score a touchdown until late in the third quarter and had just 60 yards rushing.UP NEXTTexas Tech: The Red Raiders schedule toughens significantly as they travel west next week to face Arizona State of the Pac-12. HOCKENHEIM, Germany -- Nico Rosberg set the fastest time during the opening practice session for the German Grand Prix as Mercedes held an advantage of more than one second over their nearest rival. Cheap Jordans Shoes .Rosberg set a 1:15.517 on new super-soft tyres, 0.326s faster than the best effort by teammate Lewis Hamilton just moments later and over 1.150s faster than Sebastian Vettels Ferrari in third. Rosbergs lap was also a second faster than the his pole position lap at the same track two years ago, but still more than two seconds slower than Hockenheims qualifying lap record set by Michael Schumacher in 2004.Of more relevance to this weekend, was the gap to Ferrari and Red Bull, which also used the same compound tyres as the Mercedes for their quick laps. In fact, all of the top 11 cars set their time on super-soft tyres, while only Felipe Nasr and Rio Haryanto set their times on the super-softs in the bottom 11. The Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were roughly 1.5s off Mercedes, with McLaren resuming its position as the best of the rest in seventh and eighth. The two Toro Rossos rounded off the top ten, but with the Williams and Force India drivers yet to set a time on the fastest tyre, their position is likely to come under threat in the next practice session. Valtteri Bottas was the fastest of the two Williams but had a slow spin at the hairpin during the session and ended up 2.693s off the pace on his fastest clean lap. The two Force Indias used the medium tyres to set their fastest times -- both drivers have three sets this weekend -- as they appeared to focus on longer runs during the session.Charles Leclerc returned to Haas for an FP1 outing, finishing the session just 0.3s off teammate Romain Grosjean and ahead of the two Renaults, Nasr and the Manors. Esteban Ocon also had an FP1 outing in the Renault in place of Jolyon Palmer and finished within 0.050s of teammate Kevin Magnussen. Wholesale Real Jordans . SALVADOR, Brazil -- Italys squad has decided to remain inside the team hotel at the Confederations Cup after anti-government demonstrations occurred nearby. Wholesale Air Max Cheap Candada . The decision came after Italy arrived in the northeastern city of Salvador on Thursday, when police shot tear gas canisters and rubber bullets to disperse a small crowd of protesters trying to break through a barrier blocking one of the citys streets. Also in Salvador on Thursday, a bus carrying FIFA logos was one of several parked vehicles attacked with stones, local organizing committee spokesman Saint-Clair Milesi said. Italy coach Cesare Prandelli denied speculation that Italy had asked to withdraw from the tournament. "We have avoided leaving the hotel and there is some concern but were not considering returning home," Prandelli said Friday. More protests are expected in Salvador on Saturday when Italy meets host Brazil, part of an ongoing wave of demonstrations that involved 1 million people across the country Thursday. There have been violent protests before each of Brazils two matches at the tournament so far. "As sportsmen were hoping that tomorrow there is a great football match at the stadium and that nothing happens outside the stadium," Prandelli said. "It would be a paradox if inside the stadium were trying to put on a show for the fans and 150 metres outside the stadium there is violence." The Italian Football Federation told The Associated Press that the decision to stay inside the hotel was made following an alert from local authorities and that it was "standard procedure" following instances of public disorder. "If someone protests and expresses their unhappiness they should be respected, as long as the protest is done in a non-violent manner," Italy midfielder Riccardo Montolivo said. Italy is staying in a hotel located 7 kilometres (4 miles) from Salvadors Arena Fontenova stadium. Each of the eight teams in the tournament have police escorts when they move around, and Italy has a security co-ordinator from Rome co-ordinating arrangements with local officials. Brazils squad has had extra security since arriving in Salvador. "Civil protests can stimulate improvement for the country, but when they turn violent it becomes worrisome," Prandelli said. "When there are a lot of people it becomes difficult to control those who turn violent." Prandelli said that none of his players have expressed fear over the protests or a desire to leave Brazil. "No, not that Im aware of," he said. "Were focusing on the match. Were attentive to what is going on around us but we dont have any worries of that sort." The Dons were formed in 2002 following a decision to move Wimbledon to Milton Keynes and after starting a new club and climbing back into the Football League for the start of the 2011-12 season, the club now face Plymouth on Monday for a chance to play in League One next seasonArdley, who took over as manager in November 2012, believes the actions of his predecessor Terry Brown, who led his side to promotion through the Conference play-offs, were more important. Is this the biggest game in the clubs history? No, said Ardley, whose side edged past Accrington 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals.Terry Brown getting us in the (Football) League was big, us beating Fleetwood on the last game of the season to stay in the League, theyre significantly bigger. But Wimbledon, Wembley has got a ring to it. Just seeing the fans and the elation and the comments you just think it means so much.As a kid I always wanted to be a manager even when I was young and I was playing.I always dreamed of not only playing at Wembley but more so leading the team out, and to realise that at a young age when my parents are still alive and my wife and daughters, Im all of a sudden quite cool in my daughters eyes.I was really emotional after the Accrington game. That game, the significance of that game wasnt just the promotion. Just to have this occasion is massive.Ardley signed his first professional playing contract with Wimbledon in 1991 while he was still at school and stayed with the club for 11 years before joining Watford.Despite the Wimbledon he played for becoming MK Dons and the fans forming the new club, Ardley believes this is another step in the clubs history and not the first time Wimbledon have been to Wembley - the Dons famously beat all-conquering Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup final. He said: Its the next time Wimbledon have got to Wembley.Wimbledon, my club, these fans that support me now and that are on my board, they used to watch me play.I ask the question - whats a football club? Getting us in the (Football) League was big, us beating Fleetwood on the last game of the season to stay in the League, theyre significantly bigger. Nike Air Max Sale Canada. Neal Ardley The chairmen come and go, the players come and go, stadiums get built, everything can change in a football club, the one thing that stays constant, that gets passed down, is fans. What is a football club? Its fans.Ultimately these fans were there watching me, they were there in the 70s and the 60s and ultimately theyre still there now, and the same fans who were asking for autographs from me when I was 16 and 17 coming through the ranks are coming up to me now and showing me photographs of that time now.Im taking Wimbledon back to Wembley for the first time since 1988.The history of the club is a story which is known all around the world and author John Green, who wrote The Fault in Our Stars, has signed the rights to turn it into a film describing it as the greatest underdog sports story youve ever heard.A win at Wembley on Monday would see Wimbledon move into League One for the first time and Ardley is confident the players will use the history to help them on the pitch and may even use some of the sentiment in his pre-match team talk.He said: I normally get a gut feel with the team talks.Normally I try to keep it quite level, but I will know that on the day, with five minutes to go.They know the aim is that we will be stronger next year than this year and listening to them talk, I think they are keen to leave a legacy. They look at the history of what has happened and they have more connection this group than any other team I have had with the fans and I think they are keen to say, This is our time now. The story is Hollywood.I just think if we can win on Monday it might go from the film being cut at the play-off win that Terry Brown had and me not being in the film to the film just being extended and me getting a part! VANCOUVER - Andrew Harris and the rest of the B. Nike Blazer Clearance .C. Lions saved their best for the second half Saturday night. Harris ran for three touchdowns, including two in the final 30 minutes, and Emmanuel Arceneaux scored on a 77-yard passing play early in the third quarter as the Lions beat the Edmonton Eskimos 31-21. Harris scored three rushing touchdowns for the first time in his CFL career. "Its huge for me," said Harris. "But at the same time, its all about the team and getting the win." The Lions (3-1) swept the home-and-home series with the Eskimos (1-3) after downing them a week earlier in Edmonton. "Im just happy to get the win especially against a Western opponent (in) back-to-back games," said Harris. "I thought we played well. We were consistent, we sustained drives and when we needed to run the clock down at the end there, the (offensive) line played amazing." Arceneauxs spectacular touchdown broke a 10-10 tie and sent the Lions on to victory. The Lions bettered the Eskimos in the final 30 minutes for the second straight game after trailing at half-time a week earlier. "Just coming out in the third quarter, it was the same situation as last week," said Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly, who completed 12 of 20 passes for a modest 152 yards. "It turned over into half-time. Generally, when that happens, whoever comes out (strong) in the third quarter, and sets the tempo and sets the tone for the game, is gonna be on the inside track for the win — and B.C. did that again tonight. "We didnt seem prepared after half-time." Paul McCallum booted a 37-yard field goal to account for the rest of the B.C. scoring. Edmonton backup quarterback Kerry Joseph and Fred Stamps, with just over a minute left in the game, scored touchdowns for Edmonton. Kicker Grant Shaw provided the other Eskimo points on two field goals and a 51-yard single off a missed three-pointer. Reilly, the former B.C. backup who was traded to Edmonton in the off-season, got the Eskimos offence going early after Chris Thompson intercepted a Travis Lulay pass intended for Arceneaux. The Eskimos opened the scoring with just over five minutes gone in the game as Shaw kicked a 47-yard field goal, giving them a 3-0 lead after the first quarter. But the Lions were able to build a 10-3 lead in the second quarter as McCallum, playing his first game of the season after missing the opening three with a groin injury, succeeded on his lone field-goal attempt and Harris bowled his way 13 yards. After coming in for an apparent plunge on second down, Edmonton backup QB Joseph ran for a three-yard touchdown late in the second quarter to create suspense heading into the second half. But it was almost all Lions in the final 30 minutes. "For whatever reason, we just got into more of a groove," said Lulay, who completed 18 of 24 passes for 284 yards. Arceneaux shook off Thompsons tackle attempt and also stayed in bounds, as the Eskimos defensive back got his arms on him but could not bring him down along the sideline. Lulay said he and Arceneaux, who accumulated 106 yards off just five receptions, had prepared for just such a play. "We had a (defensive) look, and we had talked about talked about that earlier, if we had that certain coverage, how Manny could release to get some width," said Lulay. "I was ready for him to make the release that he did. "So I threw a little bit into space, and Manny got the release that he needed. The biggest thing about that play was his ability to break the tackle and make the big play. For him to break the tackle and stay in bounds takes a little bit of strength." Lulay maintained his hot passing arm later in the third quarter as he was good on all four attempts during a scoring drive that culminated with a Harris one-yard run. Harris set up his own touchdown as he caught a short Lulay pass and gained 24 yards a play earlier, leaping over a defender in a bid to get into the end zone. Harris thought he had scored, and fireworks went off prematurely, but a replay showed that his knee was out of bounds before he crossed the goal-line. He felt forced to jump after his attempt to spin inside did not go as planned. "I wish I could have scored on that, because, I think, that would have been a highlight for sure." He still thrilled fans as he ran a reverse untouched into the end zone, staking B.C. to a 24-10 lead. The Eskimos showed signs of a comeback attempt, but could only pull within a point off Shaws wide 43-yard field goal attempt. Then after the Lions ran about three minutes off the clock and a McCallum punt that pinned Edmonton deep in its own territory, Jabar Westerman recorded a rare interception for a defensive lineman. B.C. Westerman enabled B.C. to use up more time before Harris juked and jived four yards for his third touchdown of the night. Numbers Game examines the deal that sees Michael Del Zotto and Kevin Klein switch places. The Predators Get: D Michael Del Zotto.NEW YORK, N.Y. - Josh Satin and the New York Mets were determined not to lose another long game at Citi Field, especially one that had pushed past 5 hours. No worries. The suddenly smooth-swinging Satin and rookie Andrew Brown took care of it. Brown hit a two-run single with two outs in the 13th inning and the Mets put together a pair of late rallies to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Monday night, handing the NL West leaders their fourth straight loss. "Walking a team off at the end — theres no greater feeling," Satin said after his second three-hit game in a row. Satin tied it with an RBI single in the ninth off Arizona closer J.J. Putz, his first save opportunity since the ex-Met went on the disabled list May 8. Cody Ross led off the 13th with a homer against David Aardsma (1-0), but the Mets fought back again against the Diamondbacks bullpen. Satin doubled with one out off Josh Collmenter (4-1) and John Buck was intentionally walked, putting the potential winning run on base. Mets pitcher Matt Harvey pinch hit for Aardsma and sacrificed the runners over. After Omar Quintanilla was also intentionally walked, Brown lined an 0-2 pitch into left-centre and was mobbed by teammates near first base well after midnight. Collmenter slammed his glove to the ground and then yelled in frustration as he walked off the field. "Give those guys credit for coming back," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said. "Its a tough loss." Arizona right fielder Gerardo Parra was injured in the eighth when he hit his face hard on the warning track trying to make a diving catch on Quintanillas triple. The Diamondbacks said a Mets team doctor ruled out a concussion for Parra, a 2011 Gold Glove winner. Wearing black armbands on their jerseys to honour the 19 firefighters who died Sunday in a wildfire about 80 miles northwest of Phoenix, the Diamondbacks fell to 2-5 on a 10-game road trip against the NL East. The Mets won for the fourth time in 12 home games, needing 5 hours, 13 minutes to secure it. "If youre going to be out there that long you might as well win the game," manager Terry Collins said. "We were out of pitching, I can tell you that." The Diamondbacks appeared poised to snap a three-game skid and end a long drought of winless starts by their starters at 23 games (0-10), opening an early 3-0 lead behind Paul Goldschmidts two-run homer, his 20th, and Aaron Hills RBI single in the second off Shaun Marcum. "I thought that was going to be the one that sort of got us going as far as getting our starters a win," Ross said. The bullpen spoiled it. New York tied it in the ninth against Putz. Marlonn Byrd hit a double off the very top of the wall — a call upheld by replay review — and Satin drove him in with a single. Cheap Blazers Online. New York had an opportunity to win it there but Buck was thrown out trying to advance to second base on a wild pitch that moved Satin to third, ending the inning. Putz said he felt fine, it was just poor execution against Byrd. "I just didnt finish the pitch," Putz said of the split-fingered fastball that he wanted to bounce in the dirt. Satin was called up when buddy Ike Davis was sent to Triple-A Las Vegas in a deep funk, and the 28-year-old first baseman with just 64 major league at-bats has been the teams hottest hitter the past week. Hes batting .444 (12 for 27) in the last seven games, and earning more playing time. "Josh deserves some at-bats. Hes getting some big hits. It doesnt matter if theyre left-handed or right-handed. Hes getting big hits for us," Collins said. "Ill tell you what: Every team has somebody that surprises you and saves you. And right now, hes our saviour cause this guy has come up and filled a big hole for us." The Mets started their comeback after Wade Miley was lifted following 5 2-3 innings of shutout ball. He was the last Diamondbacks starter to win — on June 5. David Wright had an RBI single off Brad Ziegler in the seventh and Eric Young Jr. a run-scoring double off David Hernandez after a 10-minute delay when Parra got hurt. Parra was able to walk off the field without assistance after being examined by a Diamondbacks trainer and two EMTs right in front of the Arizona bullpen. Quintanilla scored on Youngs two-out double to make it 3-2. Goldschmidt, who was 1 for 9 during a three-game weekend sweep in Atlanta, gave Miley a quick cushion. He hit a 2-1 pitch from Marcum after Hill was hit by a pitch with one out in the first. Hill added an RBI single in the second before Marcum settled in for six innings. Then five Mets relievers shut down Arizona, giving up just four hits until Ross homer. NOTES: The Mets and Diamondbacks each hung a jersey in their dugouts bearing the name "Yarnell" — the locale of the fire — and the No. 19. Those jerseys were shown on the scoreboard at Citi Field during a moment of silence before the national anthem. ... Mets SS Ruben Tejada (strained quadriceps) played his third game for the Gulf Coast League Mets and went 2 for 4 with an RBI while playing all nine innings. When Mike DAntoni took over the Phoenix Suns in 2003 and started incorporating his plan to blow the doors off of the rest of the NBA, the coach remembers looking at the stat sheet almost sheepishly when he saw how many 3-pointers they were taking. Air Max Plus For Sale Cheap .Wed put up 25 and get scared, like `Oh my gosh, maybe were doing too much, DAntoni recalled this week.If he only knew then the revolution that he started. In his first season in Houston, DAntoni has found the perfect marriage between a coachs approach and an organizational philosophy. And the Rockets are soaring because of it. They set NBA records with 24 made 3s and a staggering 61 attempts in a win over New Orleans on Friday night, then put up the second-most 3s in league history with 51 in a comeback win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. The Rockets have won 10 straight games to improve to 21-7, and DAntoni isnt about to put any limits on how many 3s his team will hoist.Thats the good thing about being in Houston. They kind of like that. Mathematics have said its OK, DAntoni said. So were just kind of pushing the envelope as far as we can go. And I dont know where that will end, but 61 is a good start. There is no bigger envelope pusher in the league than Rockets GM Daryl Morey, who took heat for hiring DAntoni with owner Leslie Alexanders blessing because many thought the Rockets needed a defensive mind after last seasons train wreck on that end of the floor. But the Rockets are a respectable 14th in defensive rating and make up for any shortcomings there by embracing modern analytics that put a premium on 3s, layups and free throws.James Harden is an MVP candidate again, Eric Gordon is enjoying a rebirth in his first year in Houston and Ryan Anderson is letting it fly. The Rockets lead the NBA with 417 3s attempted -- 81 more than the splash family in Golden State -- and are fourth in 3-point accuracy. The efficacy of the approach was readily apparent in Minnesota on Saturday, when the Rockets hit five 3s in the final three minutes to erase a 12-point deficit and force overtime.I dont ever see us out of a game, Harden said.
