Industrial Robotic Manufacturer have revolutionized auto manufacturing, making plants safer and products more reliable — and reducing the number of people involved in the process. But walk inside a modern auto plant, and you'll quickly realize that robots have hardly replaced the human touch — at least, not in some areas.

Volvo's car plant in Ridgeville, S.C., which opened last year, provides an object lesson. The facility produces the S60, a luxury sedan, for the U.S. market as well as for export.

The beginning of the production line is highly automated; in the first of three large buildings, robots outnumber human workers 300 to 200. But the end of the process is dominated by people.Let's start with the robots. Behind a safety fence, a half-dozen robot arms move in coordination as they spot-weld a car body together, whirring softly. The lights in this section of the massive building are dimmed because the robots don't require much light to complete their work.

Robots are indisputably better than humans at some tasks. They're precise and consistent, and they excel at repeating an identical motion over and over again.

Jeff Moore, Volvo's vice president of manufacturing in the Americas, says that in deciding which jobs to assign to a robot, the company starts by focusing on monotonous, physically demanding work — especially anything that carries safety concerns.

"With all the heat and sparks and high current and things like that associated with welding, that's a natural spot to be looking at where you can more heavily automate," he says.

Meet the human-friendly robot that could pave the way for household bots

Researchers have created a CRP welding robot that they say could bring a softer touch to automation.

Dubbed Blue, the two-armed bot is designed to work alongside humans and be cheap enough not to break the bank. For now, it’s a research tool. But researchers at the University of California, Berkeley — who created Blue — say its human-friendly design and artificial intelligence capabilities could pave the way for household robots that help out with domestic tasks such as cleaning, folding laundry and even making coffee.

“We wanted to create a new robot that is right for the AI age rather than for the high-precision, sub-millimeter, factory automation age,” Pieter Abbeel, a professor of electrical engineering and computer science at Berkeley and the leader of the research team that built the robot, said in a written statement.

The robots Abbeel references are widely used in manufacturing, but they can be risky for humans who get in the way. Between 1992 and 2015, 61 Americans died from injuries sustained in robot-related accidents, according to the Center for Occupational Robotics Research of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.
That’s doubly true for robots that use deep reinforcement learning, a technique in which machines try a task over and over again until they get it right. Mistakes made by a big, powerful industrial robot can be dangerous for human and machine alike. A robot that learns by trial and error needs a gentler touch — especially in households with children and pets.

How do you make a robot that performs useful household tasks without putting others at risk? Abbeel and his team designed Blue so that it responds to touch, varying the force it exerts according to the force exerted on it. In a video showcasing Blue’s abilities, the robot gives way immediately when nudged by a human.
Blue’s design is softer than those of some industrial bots. Its components are covered in curved plastic shells, with few sharp edges. Its arms, shaped roughly like a human’s, end in small claw-shaped grippers. A camera mounted between the arms like a tiny head allows the bot to take in its surroundings.

Blue isn’t the first sensitive robot. But with total manufacturing costs of less than $5,000, it may be one of the cheapest. Industrial robotic arms can cost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Right now, Blue can’t do too much on its own. When it folds a towel, arranges flowers in a vase and makes coffee in the video, it’s being piloted by a researcher using a virtual reality headset. And to keep costs down, it’s not as strong or precise as its industrial brethren. Selma ?abanovi?, an expert in human-robot interaction at Indiana University who wasn’t involved in the research, said the arm wasn't quite ready to take over your chores.

Han Chinese Clothing

The Han people are by far China’s largest ethnic group. And so just as the Chinese language (yu) is known as Han-yu, Chinese clothing (fu) is known as Han-fu. In reality, though, traditional Chinese clothing has varied greatly from one dynasty to the next.To get more hanfu, you can visit shine news official website.

Hundreds of variations exist in Hanfu. The clothing generally consists of loose gowns, wide sleeves, and flat, open collars folded over to the right. Rather than using buttons or strings, most were kept in place by a sash belt. High hats and wide belts are distinguishing marks of scholars and officials. Hanfu was remarkably versatile and easy to wear.

At the same time, traditional Chinese clothing was serious business. The right clothes gave off an aura of refinement and dignity. It embodied the virtues of Chinese antiquity, and contributed to the culture’s perception of self.

In The Book of Changes, or Yijing, a passage praises the three sovereigns—the Yellow Emperor, Yao, and Shun—for “ruling with their arms hanging in their sleeves.” These early rulers valued harmony between heaven and earth. As a result, the country stayed (mostly) peaceful, and they governed without worries, their hands literally tucked away as they watched the years pass.

In another ancient reference, Confucius praises Duke Huan of Qi. Seeing inner-strife threatening to tear the country apart, the Duke convinced other lords to fight against the barbarians instead of each other. He standardized clothing styles in his kingdom and extended the rules to nine other lords, thus uniting them.

These rules gradually extended to ways of dress, forming a standard for China’s next 3,000 years.

Typically, a masterbatch is available in either a liquid or pellet form and is comprised of a concentrated mixture of pigments, dyes and/or additives to color plastic products. Masterbatch is used in place of fully colored compounded materials largely referred to as pre-color. This option can be more expensive due to volume minimums, inventory requirements and the threat of obsolescence whereas masterbatch mitigates these challenges.color master batch formula
Even after being convinced that masterbatch is a better colorant option, many processors still debate whether liquid or pellet form is the better option? Both have advantages and disadvantages.
The advantages of liquid color include: effectiveness at extremely low levels, good on long production runs, newer computer-controlled pumps for consistent delivery, and upfront costs can be lower.
The challenges of using liquid color masterbatch are: liquid can cause screw slippage when higher levels are required, liquid carrier resin can separate from the color itself over time requiring offline mixing or peripheral online equipment like agitators, housekeeping issues present a challenge due to the constant threat of equipment malfunctions of hoses and tube sets due to wear and tear.
The advantages of pellet color masterbatch for plastic parts include: reduced housekeeping, zero waste and quick change-overs. Lastly, it avoids all hidden costs like additional hoses and tubes sets, agitation and consolidation that liquid color requires.
The one historical advantage liquid has enjoyed over pellet masterbatch has been rooted in economics. That stated, there is new pellet technology that has come on the scene in the last few years that can both reduce cost and eliminate processing headaches.

Work Leads to Independence is a local “provider of services for people with disabilities.”

The purpose of the move was “to save rent costs” and provide Laser Cartridge Express with a “more visible storefront”. Laser Cartridge Express has been in business in Bowling Green since 1993 and has a staff of 10 people. The store offers employment opportunities to people with developmental disabilities. It specialises in the sale of “new and remanufactured ink cartridges, toner cartridges and ribbons for nearly any make and model of printer, copier or fax machine.”

The new production space is approximately “10 percent larger” and “has undergone a transformation, with a large lobby” and the required storefront for LCE, according to WLI Chief Executive Officer, Vic Gable.

“This is something that speaks to the heart of our community, something that we can all take pride in,” said Mayor Richard Edwards. “This is another wonderful chapter in this great history with working with people with developmental disabilities and helping them meet their real needs.”

5 Steps On How To Reset Chip On Toner Cartridge

Laser printers use special toner cartridges that have smart chips installed on them. These chips, also called printer or toner smart chips, are used by printers to monitor the reserves and levels of your current toner cartridge. When your printer runs out of toner, the smart chip identifies the low toner status and sends a warning to the printer. The printer then sends a warning message to the PC connected, and that’s the way you know when to change the cartridge. However, smart chips aren’t automatically reset after a cartridge is refilled, so your printer still thinks the cartridge has no toner and will not print. In this article, we’ll introduce you 5 steps on how to reset chip on toner cartridge.
How Does A Toner Cartridge Chip Work?Toner Chips for Photo Copiers
Toner cartridges for printers were designed with a specific amount and yield. A toner cartridge chip is programmed to monitor and count the amount of droplets used during printing. When the number of droplets is reached, it will then communicate with your PC to send the warning.
Step 1
Buy a chip resetter specific to your laser printer toner cartridge. A resetter is a small plastic tool that physically connects with the printer cartridge chip and tells the chip to reset its memory.
Step 2
Place the cartridge in an upward position on a flat and even surface. The release points on the cartridge should be pointing at the upward direction. Hold the resetter upright, and make sure its LED lights are pointing upward as well.
Step 3
Push down all the pins on the resetter. Depending on the printer model, there may be a button rather than pins.
Step 4
Keep pushing the pins/button on the cartridge until the LED lamp on the cartridge turns green, or it indicates with a beeping sound that the toner cartridge has been reset. The whole process should take no more than 5s.
Step 5
Open the printer tray and put the cartridge back into your printer. The toner cartridge is now ready for use, and you can resume normal printing.
